Introducing our fire knife dancer for the Back the Brave Luau this Saturday, August 22, in Layton!
Martin Tevaga was born on Maui to parents Tulaga Tevaga and Rasela Tuivaiti. He has studied Ailao Afi, or fire knife dancing, under the tutelage of his father, one of the pioneers of the art, since the age of five.

He began competing at the Polynesian Cultural Center at age 13, captured the Junior World Championship title at 14, and has placed in the top nine in the world on multiple occasions. Over the years, he has performed on stages across Hawaiʻi and the mainland with some of the most talented productions in the industry.

Today, he is one of the fire knife dancers who performs on the field at every BYU home game. He is also the proud founder and teacher of TnT Ailao Academy in Utah, which he is preparing to reopen and resume teaching this year.

We are excited to have Martin Tevaga join us for the Back the Brave Luau! Get your tickets through the link in our bio.

American United donated a whole lotta swag, hygiene bags, backpacks and school supplies for us to give to kids in need of backpacks for this upcoming school year. We’ll be distributing them at a local back-to-school event this Thursday in Syracuse. If you’re near Clearfield and need a backpack for your kid, reach out to us and we’ll get you one. Supplies are limited and available until they’re gone.

Thank you, American United FCU, for always helping out and for your continued partnership! We appreciate you! 🙌🏽
