💙💚Today is International Day of Charity, so we wanted to highlight some of the hard work we do at Friends of Strays. Throughout the day, we'll be posting about that work. 💚💙
Lin Meow-well Miranda was found by a Good Samaritan beneath a house with a horrific leg injury - he had got his leg tangled in a strap somehow, broken it, and it dangled, necrotic, by a tendon. He was brought to an emergency vet clinic, and they called us to take the poor kitten. Because of the community support we receive, we were able to give him the medical care he needed, including an amputation. He was so little we had to make him a special tiny cone to keep him away from the surgery site! Now he is recovering in foster and is a happy, playful little fellow.

All September long when you dine at any 1905 Family of Restaurants; Columbia Restaurant, Ulele, Cha Cha Coconuts, and Casa Santo Stefano, you will receive a ballot with your check to select a charity.

When visiting our neighbor store Columbia Restaurant - Sand Key on Clearwater Beach, select the Humane Society of Pinellas as the charity of choice and the restaurant will be donating 5% of your check back to HSP!

This amazing program has provided $4.4 million to Florida charities and we are so excited to be a part of it this year!

Volunteers make the world go round!

💪 THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS! 🇺🇸

A heartfelt thank you to the amazing volunteers from VFW Post 2550, VFW Auxiliary Post 2550, and the Dunedin Rotary Club who came together on August 9th to assist with a major yard cleanup for a veteran in need.

The Post membership and Auxiliary each donated a 20-yard dumpster to make this effort possible, and our volunteers worked hard in the Florida heat to make a real difference. 💙❤️
