Quick review of the 2025 HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON. Two words...why bother. it was a shot for shot live action remake of the 2015 animated one, and not as good. a waste of time, a waste of props, a waste of money. the actors had no vibe and no humor. Gerard Butler recreated his original role as Stoic, great, so what. The kid that played Hiccup (I don't even care enough to look him up) was not funny and was just OK, like a bad high school production with a budget.
Yes, I love the first one. Why do a remake ONLY 10 years apart? what was the point? seriously? The first was was perfect. Jay Baruchel's voice and natural comic timing and phrasing cannot be matched! and proven that it can't be. The new kid played Hiccup... boring, uninteresting, and average.
Your kids seeing it for the first time, not seeing the first one, I'm sure will love it. but why not change something in it? why a shot for shot remake? yeah, it's well make, great effects, so what. it's the same movie with photo real effects and boring unfunny acting.
BUT, I'd give it a re-watch factor 1 higher than JINGLE ALL THE WAY.

Here's my quick review of SPINAL TAP II. I liked it. some great jokes and a bunch of nostalgic throwbacks and cool cameos. for those of you hating on it.... drop your expectations for movies, especially if it's a legacy sequel. Or anything for that matter, really. Did you think THIS IS SPINAL TAP was the funniest movie you ever saw the first time you saw it? no. you re-watched it over time and it grew on you. And you expected this one to make you feel like you do after 30 years of watching the first one 10 times. it's not a terrible movie, It's just like the first one, same pace, same dumb jokes, same quirky songs, same vibe and same fake documentary style.... but all new jokes and and good premise for a sequel.
If you've seen the first one, give this one a try, but please let your expectations go (like Star Wars too). If you haven't seen the first one and want to watch this, take some time and watch the first one first, so you know the set up and the history of the characters and history of the band so you understand some of the references. 6/10

I think I'll start doing movie reviews here too. why not. I'm over due for that.
I just watched A Good Day To Die Hard Die for the first time in a long time. and only saw it once, prior. all of the Die Hard movies now are on Hulu.
What an underrated action movie! holy s**t, just the intro car chase alone! you'd think this was a Michael Bay movie. but it's not. so if you love lots of action and plot twists, this is a good one! just forget that it's a Die Hard movie. think of it as a big action movie that happens to have a John McClain type hero played by Bruce Willis.
