Just another day out running errands - it still doesn’t feel real that I live here! In 2 weeks I will be closing on my indy house (Abbies closed in June). Movers will be emptying my Indy house and storage unit and Abbie’s storage unit. They are then making the 1000 mile trip to bring it to FL. I’m not sure where it’s all going yet bc I don’t have my new house yet but I guess I’ll figure that out. That’s the last of our life in Indiana. Of course my mom will keep me coming back but we officially will be Floridians!
I still say that this was the best decision I’ve ever made and I have ZERO regrets.

This week last year Abbie Jayce and I left Indiana for our big move to FL! It’s been 1 unforgettable year! A year of learning, growing and exhaustion.

We packed up 2 houses, loaded up 2 storage units and condensed the rest to a U-Haul trailer. We made the 1000 mile trip with a 4 year old and 6 dogs (yes 6), 2 loaded SUVs and pulled a U-Haul trailer. We drove 18 hours (stopping so this old lady could sleep 30 min-1hr at gas stations & rest stops).

We survived not 1 not 2 but 3 major hurricanes within the first 5 months. Witnessed and experienced the worst flooding event Clearwater has ever had - watching my water coming in my house from 3 directions! Staying up 3 days straight bailing water out and trying to dry out everything. Learning how to stand outside in pouring rain to drain my pool bc it was overflowing, learning how to work a generator that I never had to use in my life. Surviving 110 degrees with no AC for 8 days (thank goodness for car ACs). Trying to find gas for 4 days for the generator & cars because there was none to be found anywhere! Trying to board up the house and run from a hurricane. Trying to find a hotel for 3 ppl and 6 dogs not in the line of the hurricane.

Then after the storm 
Watching so many of our possessions being thrown into a dump truck 😞

But not everything has been horrible - we actually love it here - Abbie has a teaching job she loves, Jayce has a school he loves and that he excelled in by being one of the top kids academically, and i was able to “rebuild” my house aka redecorate.

Lastly although i have mixed feelings 
after 8 years of working from home, I applied for 1 job just out of curiosity back in corporate america and they hired me out of 60 applicants! They had faith in me that I could do it after 8 years of being out of the grind. Soooo the story continues - the journey keeps evolving!
