Tariffs have affected the sales of one-third of Ohio manufacturers, with a higher percentage of companies being hurt by the tax than benefitting from it, according to a report released today by MAGNET, a Cleveland-based nonprofit focused on strengthening the industry.

Tariffs have had mixed impact in Ohio as some manufacturers have been hurt, others have benefitted but most have seen no change, report says.

What do Clevelanders want for their schools? Does the board's current decisions reflect that? As Cleveland prepares for major changes to its public school system, in the form of 39 school mergers and 18 school building closures, some residents and council members have questioned whether the mayor’s ability to appoint the school board has led to a lack of independent oversight.

Question 🤔 Is ShotSpotter making Cleveland safer? Cleveland City Council is asking whether the city’s embrace of gunshot detection technology has been worth the money. Under ShotSpotter’s current $3.2 million contract with the city, the company’s microphones monitor 13 square miles of Cleveland for sounds of gunshots.

Cuyahoga County residents can get help signing up for health insurance at MetroHealth’s enrollment fair this weekend. The fair is at the Broadway Health Center on Broadway Ave. from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. At the enrollment fair, residents can speak one-on-one with MetroHealth’s financial counselors about their insurance options, such as Medicaid or Ohio’s marketplace.

The Music Settlement's Creative Aging department brings together music and community geared toward Clevelanders ages 55 and up. “We’re such a youth-oriented society,” Scruggs said recently during an interview. “You get to a certain age and, you know, ‘OK, Boomer’… a lot of really kind of patronizing, almost insulting attitudes.”

An adult orchestra and a choir are just a few of the programs offered by The Music Settlement that cater to Cleveland seniors.
