Credit to We’re not managing gun violence — we’re responding to it with real solutions and real resources at the community level.

Community-led spaces are the proximity to power, because the power has always lived with the people.

On January 13, we’ll be holding our third emergency community meeting at City of God. This is not a restart. It’s a continuation — building on what’s already happening, not performing collaboration, but practicing it.

In collaboration with State Rep. Darnell Brewer, The People’s Office will host a Stop the Bleed workshop, teaching life-saving skills to respond to gunshot wounds. Bleed kits will be provided.

We’ll also continue our Hi Neighbor campaign and our work to create safe spaces for our children, because prevention is sustained, not symbolic.

This is what community-led action looks like.

Protecting Our Babies. Reclaiming Our Narrative.
In light of recent media coverage that sensationalizes tragedy instead of seeking truth, we are calling an emergency community meeting to stand for the safety, dignity, and future of our children. Too often, our babies become headlines instead of being protected — and the stories told about them lack the compassion and accountability our communities deserve.
We refuse to allow narratives rooted in bias, neglect, and exploitation to define who our children are or who we are as a people. This meeting is about more than outrage — it’s about collective responsibility, healing, and action. We must confront how systemic neglect and unequal treatment continue to criminalize the symptoms of deeper community pain.
Join us as we reclaim our voice, protect our babies, and demand the systems built around us do better — because they should have been protected long before now.
