Shadow Show is an uncompromising power trio from Detroit, Michigan, that combines elements of 60’s garage-psychedelia into a 21st century modern pop-art incarnation. Sleek and spellbinding, the music sweeps you up into frenetic grooves and dazzling harmonies. Their music pushes the boundaries of what can be, yet remains deeply rooted in the raw, untouchable Detroit sound.

Cheekface is composed of Greg Katz, Amanda Tannen, and drummer Mark "Echo" Edwards. They stick close to the blend of post-punk and power pop they first explored on their 2019 debut "Therapy Island" and honed across 2021's "Emphatically No." But new to their recent album, the chatty indie rock outfit lets the music do the talking at times, like in the winding dance break of LCD-esque "Featured Singer," the explosion of guitarmonies on "You Always Want to Bomb the Middle East," and the majestic Moog melody of album closer "Vegan Water."

Driving to Studio-A? There are surface lots surrounding the area off of Ford Dr. and Bellflower Rd. where you may park for up to 4 hours or more at a time for a nominal fee. Metered parking spots are available just a short walk away on Bellflower Drive and East Blvd. Be sure to carpool and if you’ll be drinking, bring a designated driver. Taking public transit? Use the RTA Rapid Red Line and take it to the Cedar-University stop. Take the CircleLink right to Mather Memorial! Or take the Healthline to Euclid Ave & Cornell Rd station, we are just a 5 minute walk away.
Learn more at our website or RSVP on Facebook. We can’t wait to see you there, at the triumphant return of Studio-A, now in its 38th non-consecutive year!

To all WRUW listeners:

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic that is sweeping the world right now, WRUW has been trying to bring comfort and normalcy to the airwaves by not going off the air. Today we are shifting our operations to make it easier to keep our community safe from the virus:

Starting today, **we have decided to temporarily cease our in-person broadcasting from Mather Memorial until further notice.** This decision was not easy to make. With this unprecedented situation on our hands, we needed to ensure the safety of our programmers was not being put in jeopardy by keeping up with normal station operations.

The good news is that WE'RE NOT GOING SILENT. We will be using automation to play music from our digital library, still bringing the sound of WRUW to the airwaves. Right now those playlists are random, but we are working towards playing custom playlists made by the WRUW programmers you know and love in the days to come. Our programmers with access to at-home recording equipment will have the opportunity to remotely record their shows to play at the the regular time slot. We will keep our social media updated with any changes to these plans.

WRUW is doing everything we can to keep our programmers safe while trying to provide the sounds our listeners love to hear. We hope everyone in the community is staying sane and safe.

From all of us at WRUW-FM 91.1 Cleveland

What better way to re-train Minnesotans how long they need to scrub down at the sink than to put it in terms of Minnesota's most famous musical export? We're talking about Prince.

Planning specials for the "The Spandex Years" where I focus on one particular artist who released music in the 1980s. Here's what I've got so far...

April 29th - The much-postponed April Fool's Day special featuring Julie Brown.

May 6th - Sade

June 3rd - Stevie Nicks

July 1st - Dolly Patron. I'm not a fan of country western music, but I like HER a lot. You have to respect her sheer output AND what she's done for literacy.
