We are thrilled to announce the launch of our first book, “Practicing the Art of Shut the Hell Up!” by Corrie Zimerla.

This is not a book about surface-level optimism or performative growth. It is grounded in self-empowerment, integrity, and emotional clarity—without pretending, bypassing, or performing.

Each chapter stands alone as a practical tool; together they form a cohesive framework for listening deeply, thinking intelligently, navigating conflict with maturity, and leading in alignment with your values.

At its core, this book is a guide to creating less harm, more hope, and a stronger inner foundation—not through bold declarations, but through consistent, grounded choices.

If you are ready to stop outsourcing your worth, listen like it matters, think with intention, and live in alignment with who you truly are—welcome to the work.

Too often, people associate a nonfiction book with a boring old textbook. And why would anyone want to read that?

Good question.

And we can do more to make our nonfiction books more appealing and read like a novel.

As nonfiction writers, we can borrow techniques from our novelist counterparts to keep our books moving and engaging for readers.

We encourage our authors to open their book with an action-filled moment, include dialogue, and nudge readers forward by creating tension or leaving questions to end chapters.

Together, we can end the stigma of “boring nonfiction” by creating engaging nonfiction books that not only teach the reader but also hold their interest.

Great news! You finished your manuscript! But now what???

Save yourself time and money by running your manuscript through this quick pre-editing checklist.

We encourage our authors to do a thoughtful self-edit first to make their ideas shine. Then we step in to finish the proofing and editing process.

What is your go-to self-editing technique?

Repurposing your content is a great way to start writing your first (or next!) book.

But make sure you outline your book first so you can reframe and restructure your blog posts to fit within it.

Then fill in the gaps with new content.

The end result? A coherent book with overarching value, consistent voice, and depth for your readers.

Have you tried turning your content into a book? What's stopping you?

Every chapter you write should have value for your readers. If your reader only had time to read this one chapter, would they still get value?

A powerful nonfiction chapter should:
- Start with a clear question or problem.
- Deliver a shift in understanding or skill
- End with a specific action or reflection

With this formula, you can ensure your reader gets value from every chapter. (And HINT --- you can repurpose each chapter into talks, workshops, or lead magnets!)

We would love to publish all your valuable chapters. Give us a look and share your wisdom with the world while checking off an item on your bucket list! www.piper-publishing.com

As a busy entrepreneur, whether you are a founder, speaker, consultant, or content creator, time is your biggest barrier to writing a book.

We will never have a "free weekend" to dedicate to writing.

Try this instead - each week, follow this rhythm:

- 2 days per week: 25-minute writing spints (no editing).
- 1 day per week: review and light revisions
- 1 day per month: zoom out and adjust your outline based on what is emerging.

Remember - short, focused bursts beat the "someday I'll find time to write" mentality.

And at Piper Publishing, we tailor the rest of the publishing process to your busy schedule. We are your concierge publishing service. You did the hard part. Let us do the rest.

You have to catch your reader's attention from the very beginning.

If your introduction doesn't hook the reader, they won't stay for the rest of the value.

They need to understand how your book will help them. Not why you are the expert.

Make it about them, not you.

Show them how your book is the bridge.

What pain-possibility bridge could you offer in your book?

The 3-Question Test for your Nonfiction Book.

Before you invest serious time (and money) in your book, ask yourself:

1. Who is this book for specifically?
2. What transformation will they experience by the last page?
3. Why you as the guide? What credibility or experience do you
bring?

If you can't answer these, your reader won't be able to either.

How would you answer these three questions for your current idea?

Most nonfiction authors don’t suffer from a lack of ideas—they suffer from too many.

Try this:

- List 10 problems your audience struggles with.
- Circle the one you can solve most clearly *right now*.
- Draft a 10–12 chapter outline that walks a reader from “stuck” to “solved.”

Your first book doesn’t need to say *everything*. It needs to solve *one* important problem well.

At Piper Publishing, this is exactly where we start with authors: clarifying the promise of the book before we touch editing or design.

What single problem do you want your next book to solve?
