Let's chat. If you're anywhere close to 65...and having to sign up for Medicare, you do NOT need a Broker to tell you what to do. First, they make money off of you when you use them. Second, if you go to www.medicare.gov and create an account...and enter ALL of your info...including your current conditions and drugs...it will help you choose. Many people reach what's called the stupid DONUT HOLE (which is also known as "TROOP" (it stands for "True & Reasonable Out of Pocket (OOP) expenses" which isn't reasonable at ALL especially if you need BRAND NAME MEDS. Do this...as you consider plans...go with "Original Medicare AND the Part G supplement"...this is the best possible option. THEN...enter your drugs...and choose according to your CURRENT profile. NEXT...go to SSA.gov and apply for LIS (Low Income Subsidy). EVEN IF YOU DON'T QUALIFY...DO IT ANYWAY. You'll get one of two letters. One is GREEN (approval) and the other is YELLOW (denial)--this is the GOLDEN TICKET. NO broker will tell you that the approval will pay for your Prescription drug coverage. AND...also, definitely NO broker will tell you that the YELLOW DENIAL LETTER...means that if you DO reach TROOP (after your initial drug spend (in 2024) of $666, if you're taking a BRANDED drug...the drug companies will COVER it for FREE thru the end of the year after the initial $666 is spent. Yep. Follow me...I know this like the back of my hand and in the coming months, will be providing a ton of info. I'm not turning 65 for 5 years, but I have friends who ARE. DM me...if you know me, you're also on my friends list and messenger. I'll explain it in layman's terms. It's not rocket science, but it's confusing. It doesn't have to be.
