I'm sorry this is so long, but it may very well help YOU make money in these hard times.
My home biz is booming even with covid-19. I am NOT bragging. To the contrary, if YOU have the equipment to do Transfers to DVD/Flash Drive like I do, this may very well help you make money during these terrible times.
As a pro videographer my videotaping has come to a halt (No social gatherings, no sports, no corporate meetings) and I'm NOT about to expose myself to covid-19 by agreeing to tape any events where mucho people are gathered. Guys...your lives are not worth losing over money you may earn taping social events right now
Now, I was on NJ 101.5 with Dennis and Judy. They allowed me to promote my transfer biz. My phone has been ringing off the hook. Most importantly is that my method of acquiring customer's media guarantees me and them 100% risk free safety with absolutely ZERO physical contact or close proximity between us when they drop off and when they pick up. Your customers MUST be reassured of this.
Why am I doing so well? Think about it...many people must now stay at home due to pandemic. What a perfect time to have their stuff converted so they can watch and ENJOY their HAPPY memories and not watch the depressing news all day long. Tapes, films.slides which have been sitting in boxes collecting dust and not seen in decades!
I reduced my prices by 20% to help make it more affordable for all. The earnings I make are used strictly to put food on the table for my family and to buy blank dvd-r's and flash drives from B&HVideo in NYC. They ARE shipping!
I will now share my most successful marketing strategies in order of what works best!
1. I have signs at various intersections in my township which people see when they come to thr red light and they call me. I get the signs from Vistaprint so cheap and all it takes is one customer to more than pay for what the signs cost me. The sign simply reads:
Transfers To DVD with three graphics and my tel# (actually see the pic below)
*I offer FREE pickup and delivery for qualified size orders
2. Facebook.
3. Word of Mouth
Magazines, circulars TOTAL waste of money!
4. Before the crisis and when it's over I will exhibit again at vendor markets. Although I can't sell anything there, what I do is PROMOTE my services and keep a log book for interested prospects to fill in their name and tel#. E-mails are a WASTE of time...so don't bother. Then I FOLLOWUP periodically - not too much as you don't want to harass people. They tend to express excitement at the market but then put transfers on the back burner. Eventually they DO want to have it done.
If you have any questions or need help getting transfer equipment (trust me, I am a pro at getting equipment in mint condition at rock bottom prices on ebay where the sellers fight among themselves to sell their stuff cheaper than the next guy. Example: I just got a Bell & Howell 8mm film projector in mint condition with a working lamp bulb for $16.50. I am NOT messing with you. To start you only need one dual vhs/dvd recorder, a monitor, vhs-c converter and blank dvd-r discs. With just this one unit you can convert: VHS and VHS-C and IF you have a minidv camcorder and/or dig8 camcorder and RCA cables (Red/White/Yellow), you can use the same unit
Lastly, I am NOT asking for or trying to make any money whatsoever from any of you*. My sole and sincere intent is to HELP others.Call me at: 732-671-6591 or e-mail
[email protected]
If you get any people wanting transfers and you don't have the equipment and don't plan on getting any equipment, but would still like to earn something, in this case only, I will accept customer referrals, do the transfers and give you 20%. Don't turn them away cause they'll just find somebody else. I think that this is very fair and still affords you a way to make some income. Customers are giving me 30, 50, 80 tapes. Between $8 and $15 per tape...do the math and 20% of that is NOT chump change.
Warmest Wishes to you ALL
