I wanna be clear real quick—I’m not attacking political comedians.
I respect the hustle.
I’m just roasting the obsession with it.
Everything doesn’t need to be political.
I can’t even relax anymore without accidentally learning someone’s stance.
I go to a comedy show like, ‘Man, I just had a long week…’
Next thing I know I’m like,
‘Why am I emotionally involved in this joke?’
Some comedians don’t even wait for laughs anymore.
They pause like—
‘Alright… clap if you agree.’
That’s not comedy.
That’s a roll call.
I didn’t come here to participate.
I came here to sit in the dark and judge quietly.
I love comedy, but if your joke needs a side to work,
that’s not a punchline—that’s a poll.
I don’t wanna leave a comedy show knowing where you stand on every issue…
but still not knowing if you’re funny.
Where I’m from—Clinton, Iowa—
we don’t argue politics.
We argue about who’s blocking the Casey’s gas pump
and why that dude’s been inside for twelve minutes.
That’s my lane.
Back pain. Walmart. Small-town nonsense.
If I wanted a lecture, I’d call my dad.

Let me tell you something about small-town jobs… y’all gonna relate. Factory work? Oh yeah, I know that shift… that’s the one where hope dies quietly.
Healthcare? Y’all are tired AND emotionally drained.
Teachers? God bless you… you survive on glue sticks and leftover cafeteria pizza. And if you’re unemployed? Don’t worry… you’re living the dream… the ‘I don’t have to deal with anyone today’ dream.'
