Don't miss today's Tributary Festival Stream for Streams event, which features a great lineup of Baltimore and national acts, including Stages Music Arts' All-Access band!

The event, which was organized by Stages student Reed Spaulding, is free and will benefit the Chesapeake Bay.

Reed Spaulding is a Baltimore County high school student who, several months ago, organized a benefit concert for the Chesapeake Bay. The physical show was canceled due to COVID but he pivoted and put together this livestream with a great lineup of Bmore and national bands —

We're excited to partner with some of Baltimore’s best singer-songwriters next Thursday to support Baltimore Hunger Project — an organization committed to eliminating 🛑 childhood hunger.

Tune in next Thursday (6/11) at 7PM on our page to watch performances 🎶 by Cris Jacobs, Mitch Treger & Charles Simon Guitar, Scott Siskind, and Super Reggae Man as we fight hunger through music!

During public health crises like the COVID-19 outbreak, food insecure children and families are disproportionately impacted — BHP typically feeds 650 children a week but during the pandemic that number has skyrocketed 🚀 to 2,300 😱!

To donate, visit: https://www.gofundme.com/f/benefit-concert-for-baltimore-hunger-project. Every dollar helps🙏🏻 $25 supports four children each day! ...Moreover, an anonymous donor will match every dollar 💸 raised on the GoFundMe page!

Our Virtual Summer Band Program starts today, and we couldn't be more excited! Stages instructors and staff have worked hard to successfully design an online curriculum that musicians of all ages and abilities will love 💟.

Unfortunately, it’s not possible for bands to perform together over video conferencing... So our virtual bands "come together" through collaborative videos. Like this one below!

There's still time to join a virtual summer band! Admission is rolling all summer long.

With concerts cancelled and ensemble rehearsals put on hold due to the coronavirus, Stages Music Arts students and instructors worked remotely this spring to compile collage-style videos. This virtual format allows for a new kind of collaborative-based learning from students' own homes!

Now enrolling for Summer 2020! To learn, visit https://www.stagesmusicarts.com/virtualband.

Stages Music Arts Announces Virtual Concert to Benefit Baltimore Hunger Project — STAGES MUSIC ARTS

In exactly two weeks, we'll be streaming some of the Baltimore's finest singer-songwriter talent (and Charleston, South Carolina-based one-man band Super Reggae Man!) LIVE from our page!

All proceeds from the concert will help raise much-needed funds to support food insecure children and their families, who have been during the COVID-19 pandemic. To donate, visit: gf.me/u/x3jp2s

Marcodi Musical Products

A little Bill Withers tribute on this #LovelyDay! Always fun having Marcodi Musical Products –– the inventor and maker of the harpejji –– in the studio.

First sold in January 2008, this fretted, string instrument has quickly become a favorite amongst artists like Stevie Wonder and Jacob Collier. Check it out!

Back in February we had no idea that Bill Withers would pass away before we would get to post Valter's cover of "Ain't No Sunsine". Now it has become a tribute to a great and incredible musician of the recent past. 😢 [Note: The violinist (Crosby) and drummer (Skye) are harpejji builders.]

Change is often awkward at first... But virtual lessons have turned out to be awesome🎉!

Huge thanks 👏🏻 to our talented instructors, who quickly transitioned to teaching online. Here’s what they’re reporting back about online lessons:

• They're helping students maintain a sense of normalcy –– especially while adjusting to a new schedule at home.

• Students are finding more time to practice and are looking forward to lessons even more!

• They’ve provided an opportunity to hone skills in music theory and technique.

Got an awesome #StagesMusicArts learning at home moment? Share it with us!

Congratulations to the Stages students, teachers and staff for pulling together as a team to create this amazing video trilogy. We have been students at nearly every music school in town and only Stages has the facility, equipment, staff, and creativity to put together such a high quality experience for students to show off their love of music and allow parents to preserve memories of their musical journey!
