I’m thrilled to finally unveil the next bergtatt release, "bergtatt ii." This one feels almost like uncovering something long forgotten, and in many ways it acts as a spiritual successor to the original self-titled demo (and traversing celestial realms), returning to the earliest ideas behind the Bergtatt sound.
This release returns fully to those dark ambient origins—dense, slow-moving drones, dark medieval synth textures that flicker like torchlight, and layers of hiss and decay that feel like old tape reels slowly eroding. The compositions are more minimal, intentionally stripped back, allowing space for the atmosphere to breathe, linger, and envelop.
I’m putting the final touches on it now—tightening edges, letting the dust settle—and it will be released digitally soon. Looking forward to sharing it with you all!
