179.6 lbs. Size 12 pants. Size LARGE shirt. 🥹❤️
I DID IT.
But this post isn’t really about a number on a scale or a size on a clothing tag.
I’ve struggled with my weight for most of my life, and unless you’ve lived with PMOS, it can be difficult to explain the mental and emotional battle that comes with it.
People see someone who is overweight and often assume they simply eat too much, don’t exercise enough, or don’t have enough discipline. What they don’t see is everything happening underneath the surface. They don’t see the hormones, inflammation, exhaustion, unpredictable changes in your body, or the frustration of doing everything you think you’re supposed to do and still not seeing the results you expected.
I’ve had to learn that making a “good” decision doesn’t automatically mean the scale will go down tomorrow. I’ve had to learn my body. I’ve had to learn to enjoy food differently instead of being afraid of it. I’ve learned that something my body handles perfectly well one day might leave me bloated and inflamed another day. I’ve learned to pay attention, adjust, and keep going instead of giving up.
And most of all, I’ve learned discipline.
Not perfection. Discipline.
Making the next better choice even after I made a not-so-great one. Getting back up when I was frustrated. Continuing when the scale didn’t move. Learning that one meal doesn’t ruin my progress, just like one healthy meal doesn’t create it.
Today I’m 179.6 lbs, down 84.4 lbs from 264 lbs. And yes, I nearly cried when I put on size 12 pants and a LARGE shirt this morning. 😂😭
But I want to say this too: your clothing size does not determine your beauty or your worth. I was worthy at 264 lbs, and I’m worthy at 179.6 lbs. ❤️
What makes me proudest isn’t the size 12.
It’s that I have energy again. I can get up and GO. I can do things with my kids. I can work, homeschool, run around, laugh and actually participate in my own life instead of feeling like my body is constantly holding me back. I finally understand so much more about what my body needs.
I’m still a work in progress. I still have goals. And PMOS didn’t magically disappear because I lost weight. I’m simply learning how to work with my body instead of constantly fighting against it.
So today I’m celebrating. 🥹
264 → 179.6 lbs.
84.4 lbs gone.
Size 12 pants.
Size LARGE shirt.
But most importantly…
Stronger. Healthier. Happier. More present. ❤️
And I’m incredibly proud of the woman who refused to give up. 🥹❤️
