The National Association of Black Journalists - Visual Task Force (VTF) is a volunteer-led community of Black visual journalists whose goal is to enhance the professional development of new and experienced members, while providing engaging mentorship. Ready, set, capture! The theme for the VTF Moneta Sleet Jr. Photo Compeition is BLACK JOY!

All NABJ registered attendees have 24 hours to capture an image that embodies "Black Joy". Images must have be captured between Thursday, Aug. 7 at noon to Friday, Aug. 8 at noon. Photos can be taken in and around the city of Cleveland. We encourage participants to explore safely!

Piecing together an investigative story while incorporating data can be challenging. Photojournalists and reporters can ease the stress by collaborating and brainstorming early in the reporting process.

In this panel, investigative reporters and visual storytellers will delve into how to visualize data and create b-roll when there is little to work with. They will share insights on how to make stories engaging to viewers while creatively showcasing your work. They will also highlight how to build trust between reporters and photojournalists while working as a team.

People are turning to social media for news and information. The videos being created are attention grabbing but often lack in quality.

Quality videos help to convey trust, which is important in our current media climate.

This session will teach content creators how to maximize the videos they create for social media platforms and have quality work in the process.
