Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
A national holiday in US, it is day for giving thanks for the blessings of the harvest and for the preceding year. It is celebrated every year on fourth Thursday of November in US. In India, similar holidays are observed depending on the climate and harvest for a particular region. Some of the harvest holidays in India are: Akshaya Tritiya, Bhogali Bihu, Deepoli Parba, Dree Festival, Gudhi Padwa, Holi, JurSh*tal, Kanyarkali , Lohri, Nabanna, Onam, Pongal, Puthari/Huthari, Makar Sankranti, Baisakhi, Vasant Panchami and Chavang Kut.
The traditional holiday involves holding charity dinners, cooking foods of the season, giving thanks to God through religious services and mealtime prayers, Thanksgiving Parades, watching NFL games and the famous Turkey Pardon by President of United States.
