Howdy SWAMPers! Be sure to watch the Death of Stalin before 7:30 pm tomorrow so you can participate in our Discord movie discussion! If you miss this week, be sure to vote for next week’s movie in the GroupMe.

In other news, SWAMP is hosting a short film contest! Submit a short film under 10 minutes with a topic of your choosing by 12 pm May 12th. At 7 pm the same day, we’ll get together on Discord and have a watch party! The winner will receive a $20 gift card from a store of their choosing. Remember to adhere to social distancing rules and have fun!

Howdy SWAMP,

In light of classes moving online and policies on gatherings, Thursday night SWAMP Meetings are effectively cancelled. SWAMPNation is also cancelled, although if you have filmed your project we recommend you edit and share it with us still.

It’s not all bad news though, we have shifted our plans to accommodate social distancing the rest of this semester. Starting on March 31st, we will be having two activities that you don’t need much more than an internet connection to participate in.

First, we will have a weekly movie club. We will all agree on a movie for the week and then allow discussions to happen about it. Second, we will have a small at home project/competition for our members in April. In addition, we will also have a Minecraft server running so SWAMP members can still hang out if they want to despite the distance. More details are available on groupme or by contacting an officer.

We will be holding activities in the Discord channel, so go there or reach out on another social media for more information. However, we will still be using GroupMe for announcements and such. This is a rapidly evolving situation so stay tuned for more updates.

Remember to come out to this Thursday’s meeting where we’ll be doing an interactive directing workshop. This is great for any beginners who want to learn how to orchestrate a scene, or more experienced filmmakers who want to hone their skills. After we’ll head to Antonio’s Pizza for dinner. Howdy SWAMPers! Our End-of-Semester-Holiday-Party is tomorrow, Saturday December 7th 2019, from 6 to 10 PM at Z islander in College Station, TX. If you drive there, any uncovered parking is safe and you can ask an officer for the gate code.

We will enjoy special Catered dinner, celebrate the semester we've had together, view our SWAMP Royale film(s) and more. All of our members are welcome, so feel free to come in and participate. If you don't want free dinner and entertainment, we understand that too.

Notably, we will have a White Elephant! So be sure to bring a generic (yet awesome) gift valued at approximately $10 maximum.

Finally, we want to say thank you to our members for helping us have a great semester making films. See you again this spring!
