Anybody else find Baby Bediasites?
Here's eleven BABY BEDIASITES that I have found. They are much harder to find than your typical 10g Bediasite. They all are very translucent. Most of the time you have to get on your hands and knees to find these. If they are under 2grams I will call them a Baby Bediasite.

Bediasite LCL28. Some call this shape a shaft. This Bediasite has been in the creek for a very long time...it shows. It was hard for me to ID because it was so smooth but it was a Texas Black Diamond Tektite from the Chesapeake Bay impact 34/35 million years ago....

I had an hour to kill before I needed to pickup some groceries at HEB...so I went Bediasite hunting...Glad I did because it allowed me to find Bediasite LCL28(27.3g). It's been in the creek for a while tumbling...I had to look hard to make sure it was a tektite....

Show and tell again at breakfast again this morning. Dr. Roger Sassen treated us to one more of his artifact collection....

Show and tell again at breakfast again this morning. Dr. Roger Sassen treated us to one more of his artifact collection. Found in a Brazos River oxbow..my understanding is that these are appropriately 1200 years old. What do you guys think? So small...so detailed...

To capture a very translucent Bediasite with a sizable bubble inside turns out hard to do. I found it back in May of 2020 in College Station, Texas....Bediasite COR9 (22.4g). I can clearly see the bubble now but can't get a good picture? Using mineral oil ....refractive index of 1.48.......I will continue to try to get better pictures.....

Here's my two best artifacts! BEDIASITE FLAKES found at the hunting camp site that I found most of my points and tools. To my knowledge they're the only Bediasite artifacts known. There has to be a complete point out there somewhere,.....if you hear about another please let me know....

All cleaned up pictures of Bediasite SGL15(13.5g). This Bediasite had a layer of green algae 😯....so I made a video showing how I clean my Bediasites...check it out. This one is a very opaque Bediasite. I bet it's happy to finally be out of that creek.....just saying.
