Day 1 - Part 1 WELCOME TO DERRY
The show that consumed me more than Stanger Things šŸ˜† We were so excited when they announced this cast as guests. I didn't know it was possible to fall in love with these little ones more than we had watching them on that show.. but we were blown away by their true kindness and dazzling personalities. As an aunt, kids are just better than adults with way better hugs! Can't wait to watch them grow and follow their future projects.

The weekend of Banana Ball in Aggieland EXCEEDED what I've always hoped and dreamed it would be!
Friday night the kids, and I hung at to meet #99 and Saturdays winning pitcher #44
I think I was more excited than the littles šŸ˜†
Then I jet to to hang with and caught the incredible (also Tailgater) show!
Saturday we endured the heat early to take part in as much pre-game fun as possible. Plus I had to pick up my hero, "Fans First" book.
I've been entering ticket lotteries for years to see the Bananas in Houston and never had an ounce of luck. Guess I needed the game to come to me right here at home. This is now the 2nd record breaking event Adam and I attended at Kyle Field. We were just 5 of 102,000 fans singing and screaming in the stands.
Not pictured are the 2 best surprises...
DJing as the Bananas entered the field. Then, my dear friend and leading in the Tailgaters.
These memories will last forever. It really is all that it's hyped up to be, and I can't wait to do it again and again!

More internet begging!

First...It's TCMA nomination time! You can do so for FREE at www.TexasCountryMusic.ORG
This award show includes instrumentalists among artist categories, young artists under 18, Christian categories and more! To see your favorites on the ballot, you must first nominate them! As for radio, I humbly ask you to consider KVMK Maverick 100.9 for Terrestrial Radio Station and myself, Corliss - College Station, for Broadcast Personality.
I'd also like to endorse for venue of the year.

Second.. more personal. Our housewarming wishlist on Amazon. Timing was not necessarily on our side with the move. For those who have been waiting for an update on Adam, his shoulder surgery was last Thursday and he's doing as well as a man who can't use his right arm can be. He's at his followup appointment now.
Our spirits are high, but it's caused it's fair share of concern. We have to be fully moved by May 30th. Many things on registry are needed before moving, some just for fun. I think there's even an option to just gift via "furniture fund."
Not trying to make this a "poor me" post, just realistic. We're now down funds, a body, and time is stretched so things between caregiving/work/house. Already having a few of these gifts just show up has been so convenient and kind. I'm going to have a blast writing "thank you" cards. You can find the list on my Linktree linktr.ee/corlissonair

Finally, just some general stuff. I am scoping out dates in June to host a housewarming party. We can't wait to share what we've accomplished with our loved ones.
Those who have offered their help, I still don't know exactly when we'll do the final haul and moving the big stuff. What I do need in the meantime is someone local I could call on if/when I find marketplace stuff like furniture and what not. I have a truck, straps and a dolly. I just need another body capable of lifting, can use those straps (I've never mastered them) and can be available at super random times.

Thanks again to anyone who has reached out, sent gifts or to anyone who plans on filling out that nomination form and future support over the next 30 hectic days. We love our support system.

Guess who got herself a merch gig this Friday night šŸ˜‰

Fun fact.. the last show I ever attended at Hurricane Harry's was while slinging merch for Keller. I haven't been to the new Harry's on Northgate yet. I guess I needed the same reason to go!

Yesterday Adam and I celebrated 5 years of marriage with Door Dashed steaks and an episode of The Testaments and it might have been our best yet... which perfectly sums up this past year of marriage. Sure, we still hit some bumps in the road, but through an incredible journey of growth both individually and as a couple, even the largest challenges are no match for what we can accomplish together.
When we vowed "through sickness and health" I don't think we could've imagined how badly my body would turn against me just months later. The longer this mystery illness went on, the more I worried "how long can he take this?" His strength never waivered. Because of his support, coincidentally around our anniversary last year I seemed to be making a miraculous recovery. Started gaining weight, then my nails started growing again, then my hair. A year later, I'm the woman he married again... Just in time.
Adam was injured at work right as we began searching for a home. Now, we are trying to prepare our house to move in and he's doing as much as possible with what little use he has of his right arm. On Thursday he will finally have a surgery to repair the shoulder, but it'll also take away his ability to use that arm at the exact time we're expected to move. I will then be challenged with the physical expectations of the move (with help from some extraordinary friends) as well as caregiver.
A year ago I wouldn't have had the mental strength nor the physical abilities to support my husband the way I want to and most importantly, how he deserves to be supported. Now? Bring it on. I'm strong in more ways than I knew were possible and have gained confidence in myself, my body, and my commitment as a wife. It almost feels like I'm finally ABLE to BE his wife for the first time.
A new journey is beginning and I'm still doing it with my best friend.

2. 1st anniversary, holding a photo of our 1st NYE kiss as a married couple. (Taken and gifted by )
3. 2nd anniversary, our ceremony when I took his last name.

My heart is still on the mend after the Chilifest Day 2 cancelation. I'm most upset about the people I said "see you tomorrow" to instead of "goodbye."
There's a lot of special humans involved that I care for on a deep level that I only get to see this one particular weekend each year and it's hard to see it end after completion.. let alone it being so abrupt.
BUT, you know I have to look on the bright side. I'm reflecting on how truly amazing just the one day was.
Pic 1. I was surprisingly reconnected with a very special young artist whom I've very much been looking forward to catching up with.
Pic 2. Nobody loves peering out on those youthful faces more than me. They're bright and kind and have such beautiful lives ahead of them. Especially the young ladies you see beside me. The women of are a bombshell of badassery. From the girls putting their faces upfront and spreading joy and kindness throughout our community, to the ones behind the scenes orchestrating a successful promotion that I'm honored to be apart of.
Video 3. Everyone knows how much I was anticipating opening day 2 with a band so close to my heart, checking off one of their greatest accomplishments. Still, nobody can take away the experience of them working so hard to compete for that spot during Battle of the Bands and successfully seeing it through to a win.
However, this was how I also began my friendship with when he was crowned the Friday opener that very same night. Together we were able to plan the most "Aggie" experience to not just open the weekend, but a Chilifest first! Ryan is a proud member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 22, but missed one special and terrible tradition.. The ring dunk.

So yeah.. it was short, it was sad, and I still feel like I've left something important unfinished. But we did quite literally "weather the storm" and gave it our all and loved hard with the little time that was given. I'll be grateful for that.
