12/01/2022:
With it being the beginning of sick season we did tons of research and also received some amazing insight from local healthcare professionals.
Strep, flu A & B, and COVID all with other viruses and bacterial infections seem to be seen more often in the winter months. Below are some ways to help keep you safe and healthier.
Strep:
Strep is a sickness located in your tonsils. You can help prevent strep by staying away from those who have it or staying home if you already have contracted it. Adding to your daily routine you can gargle warm salt water or listerine mouth wash (the kind that contains alcohol) and it will kill bacteria in that area of your mouth.
If you have or think you have strep, you can still gargle salt water or mouth wash, however after 24 hours we definitely recommend seeing a doctor. It’s never to early to see the doctor.
Flu A & B:
Flu A & B both are common sicknesses that mutate every year or so. To prevent spreading or contracting the flu you can, stay home when sick, wear a mask, social distance, or wash your hands frequently.
If you believe you have the flu we recommend seeing a doctor to get tested. If the results come back positive they will have additional information on how to best care for yourself and others.
COVID:
COVID is pretty much the same treatment and avoidance tactics as with the flu. However if you contract it, stay home and call a local testing place to get tested.
We hope this information has been helpful or useful for someone.
