Everyone, meet the newest member of our family: “Vandy” (Steven’s idea to carry on my last name lol).
She is “the rescue of rescues” as the shelter employees put it.
She is 2 but had been living at the rescue shelter for 9 months, and in that time, she only had two meet and greets.
They think she was hit by a car, as both of her hips were dislocated but allowed to fuse into place that way. She had her first hip surgery to correct the issue at the start of June, and she will be getting surgery for her other hip tomorrow!
Before being rescued, she was at a puppy mill, living in a cage, and then she was sent to auction to either be sold or put down.
Luckily, the amazing folks at saved her.
She’s a petit gal (her growth stunted from malnutrition) but we think her petit size is perfect, since she is the same size as Margs.
She is so sweet but she’s genuinely terrified of everything (the TV, cars, her own reflection, etc.) — and rightfully so, as we can’t imagine the kind of abuse and trauma she’s been through.
However, she’s doing a great job adjusting & we are so proud of all the progress she’s making already.
We know she just needs a lot of love and time to become an amazing family pup, just like our sweet Margo 💕
