The Fort Smith trip was a joyful experience. I sold all the books I brought with me and took orders for more. The book signing and lecture took place in Clayton House, I am reasonably sure that the house, built in the 1850's, was visited by my great-grandfather, great-grandmother and great-great-grandfather, Elias Rector, indian agent for the Osage tribe. I could almost feel their presence. The attendees were enthusiastic, warm and welcoming.
Next up: a reading of my play, "Something Like a Star" at the Hooked on Books used book store, 7 E. Bijou St., on Robert Frost's birthday, Sunday, March 26th.
