Robby was a shining light, as a new talent at Retro he was also so calming for us when we got there.

Always stepped out from the bar to tip us, esp if the crowd wasn't there that night. And to tell you how much he felt it, even if you felt he ways the only one who did.

He did some amazing art for the club that hangs near the stage, and our last chat was about of all things baseball. How it was so communal and family, when the family was cheering for a team that their parent brought their kid into, who was screaming for the family team louder then the parent who was the reason the kid was screaming for.

Football was that for me and never understood baseball but understood that connection to sports and a team that gives life to you and your family.

I thought he was a Ally picking up a part time bartending gig, a cool artistic guy that came to help a icon of a venue like Retro. But like myself, came with the best intentions and hope to help and to find a community and home away from home.

May my brother of near the border of the south. My bartender who served awesome drinks even if he didn't know what went in it.

And the man who listened to our stories and took us into his heart and gave us peace, may he fly high and watch over his family, friends and loved ones.

Rest in Peace and Comfort Robby and may all who loved you the closet to your heart find comfort that the strongest guardian angel is watching over you.

If you want to help this man get back home to his family donate here and help fulfill his final wishes.

Saturday morning, we lost a member of our Retro family.

Even though Robby only graced us with his presence for five months as our bartender, he made an impact on every single one of us. He loved Retro and everything it represented. His creative juices never seemed to stop, he always had another idea, another vision, another story. You could get completely lost in a deep conversation with him, and somehow always walk away seeing things a little differently.

Life is simply unfair and unpredictable. I, along with everyone at Retro, am completely shocked and devastated. Robby had so much more to give this world. He had plans. He had goals. He had dreams. Before his passing, he left a sketch on one of our columns that spelled out “RETRO.” He was an artist, and a damn good one.

We will finish what you started, Robby. Your art, your ideas, your energy, and the mark you left on all of us will remain a part of Retro forever.

We will never forget you.
We love you, Robby.

Thank you for being a part of our family. ❤️
