In this episode of RealTOC, host Cameron Hardin sits down with Air Force veteran Tyler Bowser to unpack an incredible story of resilience, redemption, and dedicated service to the veteran community.

The episode begins on location at the American Legion in Canton, Georgia, where the Cherokee County Homeless Veteran Coalition gives away three donated cars to deserving veterans and their families, bringing their lifetime total to 85 vehicles delivered to those in need.

Moving back to the studio, Tyler opens up about his journey both in and out of uniform. From his early days growing up in Southern California to his time at Eglin Air Force Base, where a split-second, life-saving act on a runaway bus earned him Commendation Medals and Airman of the Year honors, Tyler shares the moments that shaped his early career. He candidly discusses the personal tragedies and severe challenges that followed his military service, including the heartbreaking loss of his young daughter to Spinal Muscular Atrophy, two overseas deployments as a contractor in Afghanistan, and his struggles with trauma, bipolar disorder, and severe alcoholism.

Tyler recounts the humbling turning point that led him to rock bottom, living in his car and staying at a shelter in downtown Atlanta, and how a powerful spiritual awakening in 2016 helped him commit to sobriety and rebuild his life. Today, through his work with Connecting Georgia Veterans and local partners, Tyler uses his journey to raise millions for veteran assistance, connect former service members with crucial resources, and bridge the gap between younger veterans and community organizations.
