🌱 Plant the Seed. Read the Harvest.

What happens when you cross the border and start listening?

For our September Canada Series, Brwngrlz Collective took the conversation north—talking with Canadians about culture, community, identity, and what makes Canada uniquely Canadian. 🇨🇦

Yes, Canada is part of the North American continent, but crossing that border can reveal differences in culture, perspectives, traditions, and everyday life that you might not expect.

Because sometimes, you have to plant the seed of curiosity to discover something new—and then take the time to read the harvest.

Join us throughout September as we share the conversations, perspectives, and moments that made our time in Canada more than just a trip. It was an opportunity to learn, listen, and see beyond the border.

What would YOU want to know about Canadian culture? 👀🇨🇦

We took the conversation across the border. 🇨🇦🌱

While in Canada, we caught up with Josh to talk about the culture, his perspective on Canada, and of course, we had to put him to the test with a little BrwnGrlz game.

For his category, Josh chose “Plant the Seed,” connecting right back to our September theme: Plant the Seed, Reap the Harvest.

But the conversation doesn’t stop with him. Before leaving, Josh planted a seed of his own and passed a question forward to the next person. Now we get to see where the conversation grows from here.

Different people. Different places. One conversation connecting us all.

Who gets the question next? Stay tuned.

What are you planting today that you hope to see grow tomorrow? 🌱

September is here, and this month at BrwnGrlz Collective, we’re embracing the theme “Plant the Seed, Reap the Harvest.”

Every experience, opportunity, dream, and new destination starts somewhere. Sometimes it begins with nothing more than an idea and the decision to believe it’s possible.

The harvest may not happen overnight, but that doesn’t mean nothing is growing.

This month, be intentional about what you plant. Give your goals time. Give your vision room to grow. And when the opportunity comes, don’t forget to actually enjoy the harvest.

Here’s to a September of planting with purpose and experiencing the fruit of what we’ve already planted.

Plant the seed. Reap the harvest. 🌱

IF YOU’VE BEEN ASKING FOR A SIGN, LET THIS BE IT. ✨

As we wrap up August, we’re looking back at some powerful words shared by our community at the Tune Team Festival.

Our theme this month was “The Next Chapter Begins With You,” because every part of life is a journey. Entrepreneurship, family, love, healing, personal growth—we’re all navigating something and doing our best to move forward one day at a time.

So, if you need encouragement for the road ahead, let these messages find you exactly where you are. You may not have every answer yet. You may not know how the entire story unfolds. But you can still take the next step.

The page is turning. The next chapter is waiting. And it begins with you. 💜

Save this for the days when you need the reminder, and share it with someone who may need these words too.
Also make sure to check out our upcoming book club where we have author Chinyere M. Udeh

🌱 POETS, MAYBE THIS OPPORTUNITY FOUND YOU FOR A REASON.

Words have the power to plant something in us. Inspiration. Healing. Courage. HOPE.

The Grief and Bereavement Resource Center is currently looking for 6 poets to participate in Voices of a Poet: Words of Inspiration & HOPE as part of the Circle of HOPE Scholarship Fundraising Event on October 10th in Columbia, SC.

If you’ve been looking for a place to use your gift, share your story, or allow your words to pour into someone else, this may be that opportunity.

Know a poet whose voice belongs in this room? Tag them or send them this video. 🌱

For participation information, contact Sylvia Grant at 803-606-3032 (tel:803-606-3032) or 1-888-973-9348 (tel:1-888-973-9348).

Use your words. Be a voice. Create HOPE.

BEFORE AUGUST CLOSES, TAKE THESE WORDS WITH YOU. 💜

As we share our final post inspired by this month’s theme, “The Next Chapter Begins With You,” we’re leaving you with more encouragement from the community at the Tune Team Festival.

Not every chapter ends with everything figured out. Sometimes it ends with a lesson, a little more courage, and the decision to keep going.

Whether you’re building a business, caring for your family, navigating love, healing from something, or simply trying to become the person you know you’re meant to be—give yourself grace. We are all learning, growing, and taking life one day at a time.

As August comes to an end, ask yourself: What do I want the next chapter of my life to look like—and what is one step I can take toward it?

Turn the page when you’re ready. Just remember, no one else can write this part for you. The next chapter begins with you. ✨

THE FINAL PASS… BUT DEFINITELY NOT THE LAST CONVERSATION! 🎤📚✨

Part Three closes out our Community Passport game from the Book Chicks Author Expo, and the energy stayed strong until the very end!

The authors answered questions, passed new ones along, shared pieces of their journeys, and learned more about the people behind the books. It was fun, it was genuine, and it proved that some of the best connections begin with one good question.

Kiwan Fitch created more than an author expo. She created a space where authors, readers, vendors, and community members could connect, network, and enjoy themselves. If you see another event with her name attached, make sure you’re in the room!

Until the next conversation… keep connecting, keep sharing, and keep passing it forward. 💜

PART TWO… AND THE ENERGY STILL SPEAKS FOR ITSELF! 🎤📚✨

A few weeks may have passed, but the Book Chicks Author Expo was too good not to keep sharing!

For our Community Passport game, each author answered a question from the person before them, selected a new category or question, and passed the conversation to the next author. What started as a game became an opportunity for the authors to interview one another, learn about each other’s journeys, and build genuine connections.

Kiwan Fitch created such a welcoming environment filled with great energy, meaningful networking, and plenty of fun. If you see her hosting another event, make sure you check it out!

And if you can’t feel the energy through these videos… we don’t know what else to tell you! 😂🔥
