Are you familiar with the term "emotional scamming"?

Even if you aren't, if you're on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram or TikTok, you've experienced it before.

"Emotional Scamming" is the calculated use of content designed to trigger a high-intensity emotional response—to bypass your logic and force you to engage.

You'll see a bold headline (usually in all caps or in BOLD color) on the screenshot with phrases like: "Do Men Hate Women?!" or "Career Over Family!" or "Everyone's Hips Are F*&*d UP!" And instantly your response is 'What?!' then, you click.

Sound familiar now?

It is called a "scam" because the content often isn't genuine; it is engineered to steal the most valuable resource you have: your attention.

Media Literacy is self defense.

In this 60-minute session, we’ll give you the building blocks for understanding the basic visual "grammar" (shots, angles, pacing, phrases) that influences how you think and feel about the content you watch.

Great for consumers that are curious about media literacy but struggle with screen overload and misinformation.
