In 2019, I was the first openly LGBTQ person elected citywide in Raleigh. During my time on the Raleigh City Council, we’ve made great strides, including enacting a comprehensive Nondiscrimination Ordinance, adding an LGBTQ liaison to our police department, and improving our score on the Municipal Equality Index.
