There is a noticeable absence from the starting lineup for Barcelona's next match against Celta Vigo at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.
In fact, for the match against the Galician team, manager Hansi Flick has chosen to bench talismanic winger Lamine Yamal.
The 17-year-old, who has been a consistent member of the squad every week, gets benched tonight and Ferran Torres will start in his stead.
Flick explains the absence of Lamine.
Before the game against Celta, Flick spoke to the media to explain why emerging star Lamine Yamal will start on the bench.
The German coach played down the choice, claiming it was a part of a well-planned strategy that the player and he had agreed upon.
Is it unexpected that Lamine Yamal is taking a break and resting on the bench? Nobody should be surprised by it,” Flick said.
