Insects are small creatures with three body parts: the head, thorax, and abdomen. They have six legs and usually two pairs of wings. Insects come in all shapes and colours, from the bright red ladybug to the brown ant.
Insects are found all over the world, from the rainforest to the desert. They play an important role in our environment. Bees, for example, help pollinate flowers and produce honey. Butterflies are not only beautiful to look at, but they also help pollinate plants. Ants work together to build their homes and find food.
However, not all insects are friendly. Some can bite or sting, like mosquitoes or wasps. That’s why it’s important to be careful when we’re around them.
