Hello there! It has been a hot second since I have posted and have many new followers, so here’s a little info about me, in case we haven’t met…

My name is Gina Winks….and I have a fire lit under my ass!!!🔥😘

I’m an audio engineer, wife, mama, dork😅, audio GEEK, music lover, I cuss a LOT, and I’m always on the go.

I’m the owner/founder of GINX Media - audio production company.

Well…It has been an interesting beginning of the week.

Sunday I was lower energy than usual and felt a bit off and noticed I had a few tonsil stones, which I’ve had before but it was never anything to bothersome.

Yesterday I was not feeling good and my throat went from a little sore to being extremely painful just to swallow.

Last night I couldn’t find anything to relieve the pain and by the time I woke up this morning, I opted to go to urgent care….which didn’t work out because now they require appointments and I did not know this…so ER it was

Honestly I’m glad I went to the ER because they got me in so fast, immediately noticed how much pain I was in and got steroids in my system to get all the inflammation down in my tonsils and got me a strep test.

Within just 2 hours they medicated me, took tests, confirmed I have strep(this is the first time I have ever had strep and holy s**t it is painful AF) and got me a penicillin shot so that it gets knocked out of my system in the next 24 hours.

As seen in the picture from the ER, I got very little sleep last night…my eyes show it all…From the time this picture was taken around 10:30 this morning, to right now @ 4:45pm I am already feeling a huge difference. I immediately came home and rested in bed and as much as it drives my ADHD mind INSANE…I shall continue to rest.

At first I felt nuts for going to the ER for swollen tonsils, but damn I am glad I did.

My friends,

We get to be both successful AND have fun.

This year I truly have focused on a lot of fun, flow, personal growth and am working on taking off the mask that I held onto for a very long time.

Do I fu***ng love my job and my clients? YES!

Do I have to pinch myself every time I walk into the studio that I created? YES!

Do I feel an insane amount of gratitude for the fact that I own my own business and built my role/ job description solely from the things I am most passionate and that I full control of who I work with and what projects I work on? YES

What I did realize last year tho, was that while I am doing what I love in my business, I was not being true to myself and taking care of myself anywhere else in my life.

So with an insane amount of support from my husband, therapy (no shame in therapy my friends, it has been a life changer for me more than once) and a huge number of amazing friends and family, my life outside of work, looks and feels so incredibly wonderful and different in the best of ways!!

I’m looking forward to sharing so much more with all of you, and thank you so much for being on this journey with me.
