Part four of why pay for therapy when books will absolutely destroy you for free?

Honestly, my favorite thing about reading is how a bunch of words can emotionally wreck me like it’s their full-time job.

Obsessed - You know when everything is just going how you want and you could live in this world?
✨Because I Klled Him by Edith Birde
✨Smoker and Scar by Gretchen Powell Fox
✨ Between Tides & Thunder by Leena Kazek

Broken heart - at some point in these stories my heart was physically aching.
✨Daughter of The Night by Gemma Vale
✨The Silversmith by LJ Claren

Overheated - does this one really need an explanation ? 🥵
✨The Light Between Us by Jolene Tyler
✨ Cinder Vale by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti
✨ The Serpent and the Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent

Screaming - when whatever is going down has me freaking out
✨ Emmiline A Story Of Love In The Veil by Kristen Coar
✨Kissed By The Gods by Caty Rogan
✨Mortal Love by K.Rosé.

Well S**t - basically when it all goes to hell
✨Veins of Power by Becky Jane Fox
✨The Reaper by Melissa K. Roehrich
✨Elemental Awakening by Bobbi Werkmaa

Giggling - when the banter is bantering and the feet are kicking
✨The Last Guardian by Laura Collin
✨The Deal by Elle Kennedy
✨One Golden Summer by Carley Fortune

Unwell - when your left with an overwhelming feeling of profound sadness because what are these characters supposed to do now?
✨Hollow Huntress by Kathryn Breux
✨Blue Arrow Island by Brenda Rothert

Ick - it doesn’t have to be the whole book, but when something in the book made me feel incredibly .. just… ick

Welcome to my stop in the Bookstagram & Creative Tour for Curse of Shadows and Thorns by LJ Andrews hosted by MTMC Tours! A Viking princess can break a 200 year curse over the villain she loves, all it will take is giving her life. Welcome to the Broken Kingdoms, a dark fantasy romance series that follows the story of four couples across four kingdoms & the First Generation cast to the Bestselling Ever Seas series.

This series is complete & on KU.

Perfect for fans of:
Vikings meets Beauty and the Beast
Masked villain
Forbidden love
Morally Grey Found Family
Slow-burn

This whole series is honestly perfect for romantasy lovers, but also people who are maybe just starting to get into the genre. The world and the Magic system aren’t too complex and it’s not a required read, but in my opinion, a definite bonus if you’re going to be reading The Ever King.

A few years ago, I forgot how much I loved reading. Now it’s the thing I look forward to most at the end of the day.

Between the chaos of motherhood, endless to-do lists, and the general nonsense of adulthood, books became my favorite place to disappear for a while. The fact that they also led me to a community of people who get way too attached to fictional characters? That’s just a bonus. 🩵

✨ Books that currently own a piece of my soul:
• ACOTAR
• The Lies of Lena
• The Plated Prisoner Series
• Throne of Glass
• The Ashen Series
• Crescent City
• Dramione fanfics (a personality trait at this point)
• Lightlark
• Zodiac Academy
• From Blood and Ash
• The Windy City Series
• The Selection Series

📖 Currently reading: Ballad of Falling Dragons

My TBR is completely out of control, so tell me—which romantasy book would you force everyone to read if you had the chance? 👇

✨BLURB✨
She can break a 200 year curse over the villain she loves. All it will take is giving her life.

Elise Lysander is the spare, not the heir. She’s supposed to marry for duty, not desire.

Until Legion Grey walks into her life and everything changes.

As the dowry negotiator hired to arrange her prestigious marriage, Elise fights not to enjoy the mysterious, handsome man, but the more she spends time with Legion, the more she’s drawn to him.

But where does he go when he disappears every twenty nights?

Soon a deadly coup forces Elise to run with Legion, and only then does she discover a dark truth. Legion Grey, the man she’s fallen for, is consumed by bloodlust he can’t control. Cursed.

And there’s only one way to free him of his suffering—royal blood.

Elise must make the choice: return to her life as a forgotten royal or betray her kingdom by giving it all for the cursed villain everyone fears?

Well. To everyone who told me I was being too hard on Every Summer After… congratulations. You were right.

I don’t love being wrong, but here we are 🤣

One Golden Summer completely redeemed this story for me, and honestly? The biggest reason is Charlie. Carly Fortune gave him the redemption arc I wanted, and I ate it up. Every single page.

This book follows Charlie and Alice, and their relationship was just ridiculously cute. The chemistry felt natural, the banter was fun, and watching Charlie slowly peel back all those layers made me love him.

And Alice was such a great match for him. Their dynamic felt easy. I found myself smiling through so much of this book.

The summer vibes were perfection, the romance delivered, and somehow Carley Fortune managed to make me care about a story I had pretty much written off after book one. That’s a level of character rehabilitation I have to respect.

As for the TV show… I think I’m sitting this one out for now. I’ve seen way too many mixed reviews from people who loved the books and aren’t thrilled with some of the choices being made. Maybe I’ll cave eventually, but at the moment I’m perfectly happy keeping these characters exactly as they exist in my head.

Final verdict: Charlie Nation, you won.

Me, staring into absolutely nothing while driving because I can’t stop wondering what it would be like if Rhysand ever met Aelin.

The scheming. The ego battle. The terrifying amount of power in one room.

Would they become best friends, mortal enemies, or spend the entire time trying to outsmart each other?

What’s your verdict?
