Planning a trip to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium Zoo and Aquarium this summer? Did You Know? The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium Offers KultureCity Sensory Bags! They are a certified Sensory Inclusive facility and offer KultureCity Sensory Bags for guest to checkout. These bags are designed to lessen sensory overload!
Each sensory bag contains:
Noise-canceling headphones (to minimize loud sounds)
Sunglasses (to minimize bright lights)
Fidget items (to help guests stay engaged and calm)
A KultureCity VIP lanyard
A communication card (to assist with nonverbal expression and feeling identification)
Where to go: Request a bag at the Guest Relations office located near the main entrance.
Deposit: A $10 refundable deposit is typically required, which you get back when you return the bag at the end of your visit.
Availability: Bags are checked out on a first-come, first-served basis.
To help plan your trip, the Zoo also offers Sensory Maps. These maps highlight the quietest and loudest areas of the park, locations of strong smells, and free-play zones to prevent overwhelming moments.
Quiet Hours are offered on the first Sunday of every month during the first four hours of operation, providing a more sensory-friendly experience with reduced sounds, music, and visual stimuli.
