Five weeks ago, The Whispering Page was a space nobody had walked through yet. Last week, the doors opened! ❤️

I got to work behind the scenes with Ashley and Devin in the 4 weeks leading up to opening day, building their social presence (and BUZZ) and introducing the community to the bookstore coming to Worthington.

Then I got to show up on opening day and enjoy it!

I bought a gift card, ran into Tammy from Cooley Construction | Residential Home Remodels and got to make the sweetest bouquet at the Juniper & Honeysuckle bouquet bar. And, of course, I finally got to see people walking through a space I’d been talking about online for weeks.

This is what I ❤️: helping a small business tell its story before the doors even open, and then watching the community show up for it.

Congratulations to Ashley and Devin for creating something pretty awesome and diving into small business ownership!

I can’t wait to use my gift card!

Competition has never really resonated with me.

So when CreativeMornings Columbus invited me to speak on the theme of Competencia (Competition), I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to say.

As I started preparing, I realized something.

My biggest competition has rarely been another person.

It’s been the expectations I’ve placed on myself. The version of me I thought I needed to become before I was ready.

That realization completely changed the direction of my talk.
