The Hilltop Arts Collective recently collaborated with Powell artist Valerie Hinterschied to present a most ‘egg-sellent’ workshop to the westside community. On April 6, Hinterschied taught more than a dozen workshop attendees the basics of Pysanky, a traditional Ukrainian egg decorating craft that involves ‘writing’ intricate patterns on eggs and using wax-resist techniques and dyes to reveal those intricate patterns.

The Friends of Westgate Park hosted their first spring cleanup of the season on March 29. For more than an hour, over a dozen volunteers cleaned out the flower beds and rain gardens to make way for all of the beautiful flowers that will soon be popping out of the ground.
