LATEST SNOWFALL FORECAST -- FINAL UPDATE

We are continuing to watch the chance for accumulating snow to impact much of Ohio beginning today, and continuing into early Sunday.

Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect for portions of northwest Ohio, where the greatest snowfall totals and travel impacts look to occur. These winter storm warnings are in effect until 10 AM Sunday. Forecast snowfall looks to mainly be in the 4-6 inch range, though due to some adjustments in the weather models, we have kept the 4-6 inch range for areas like Toledo and Findlay.

Winter weather advisories are in effect into the Miami Valley down into Central Ohio until 9 AM Sunday. Snow totals look to remain in the 2-4" range, with lower totals closer to I-70, where I have 1-2 inches. Less than an inch near the Ohio River (in south central Ohio) due to the chance for rain mixing in.

Also, I added a 4-6 inch range into areas like Ashtabula, Cleveland, Lorain, and into Sandusky, due to the chance for some additional lake effect snow bands that may fall as a result of colder air moving over a warm Lake Erie. That could add additional totals (2-4 inches from this event plus another 1-3 inches possible from lake effect snow bands).

ONSET TIMING FOR THE SNOW

I wanted to break down the onset of the snow that will be moving in. This is not how long the snow will be falling but the range of when the snow may begin. Looking after Noon on Saturday for areas west of I-75, with the timing growing significantly later the further east and southeast we get.
