Thunderstorms are re-developing this afternoon across portions of the Ohio Valley. Clearing after morning storms allowed hot, humid air to build, with storms drifting slowly and staying mostly localized. Isolated strong to severe wind is possible, with gusts up to 60 mph, plus marginally severe hail up to 1.25 in. A watch is unlikely (20% Probability of Watch Issuance).

Rivers, creeks, and low-lying roads may flood, including near Bellefontaine and West Liberty. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.

Flood Advisory continues for Fairfield, Franklin, Hocking, and Pickaway counties in central Ohio until 11:00 AM EDT 9/5/26. Excessive rainfall is causing minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas, with 1 to 2.5 inches already reported and up to 0.5 inches more possible. Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads.

A line of storms moving east at 45 mph is producing 60 mph wind gusts. Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Move to an interior room on the lowest floor.
