Long Post Alert 🚨

Leadership can be intoxicating.

The influence.
The recognition.
The decision-making power.
The stage.
The seat at the table.
The ability to direct outcomes.

All of it feels good—until you realize you’re leading under the influence.

Because just like any form of intoxication, the effects of power and position can cloud your judgment, blur your vision, and dull your awareness.

You stop listening.
You stop learning.
You start reacting.
You forget who you’re serving.

And here’s what makes it even trickier:
The perks can feel like proof you’ve arrived.

The company phone that never stops ringing.
The corporate card.
The private meetings.
The access.
The applause.
The authority.

But Scripture gives us a sober reminder:
“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”
— 1 Peter 5:8 (ESV)

Here’s the truth:
Leadership isn’t about how much you can control—it’s about how much clarity you can maintain when the spotlight is brightest.

Stay sober. Stay grounded. Stay servant-minded.

Leadership done right doesn’t intoxicate—it elevates others.
