WHO DROPPING THEM OFF AND WHO PICKING THEM UP?! 😂
“Work 2nd shift!” starts at 2.
WHO GETTING THE KIDS AT 4:30?!
“Work 3rd shift!” okay cool… WHO WATCHING THESE KIDS ALL NIGHT?! 😭
“Find before/after-school care!” $300 a week + a waiting list longer than my patience. 🤦🏽‍♀️
And daycare be like “5:00 PM PICKUP SHARP.”
Meanwhile your job: “We need you until 5.”
OH OKAY SO I’M JUST SUPPOSED TO TELEPORT?! 😭😭😭
THIS ISN’T ABOUT PEOPLE NOT WANTING TO WORK. PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO WORK. The schedules simply DO NOT WORK for parents who don't have a village. We HAVE NO PLAN B NOBODY TO CALL ON OR HELP US
You need a job to pay for childcare.
You need childcare to be able to work.
You make more money and lose assistance.
You work less and can't pay your bills.
WHERE IS THE ACTUAL SOLUTION?!
something has GOT to change. So many single parents are literally trying to choose between working, paying bills, or being physically available for their children. And that's a horrible position to put parents in.
I know I’m not the only one struggling with this. 😭
