I had the pleasure and honor of putting this hype and highlight reel together for Brookstone Football as they won the semifinals in the GIAA 4A playoffs. They shut out FPD 13 to 0 and now they are headed to Macon for the state championship against Stratford. The game will be this Saturday at Mercer University at 6 pm. Wishing you young men victory and hoping you bring that 4A state title back to Columbus and back to Brookstone. Keep pushing and finish the mission.

A few shots from the Brookstone versus First Presbyterian Day School semifinal game. Brookstone battled hard and pulled out the win, punching their ticket to the state championship in Macon this Saturday.

Jayshawn Woodhouse put on a show against Opelika! The junior RB for Central went off with 21 carries for 284 yards and 3 touchdowns. Pure domination from start to finish. With over 1,161 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns on just 84 carries for the season. EIGHTY FOUR carries!! That over 13 yards per carry!! Talking about a home run hitter!! He’s proving why he’s a top 10 backs in the state. Can’t wait to see what he does his senior year.

Columbus High Senior QB, FS, and KR Andrew Smith IV was a scoring machine against Hardaway. This clip right here was a 95-yard kickoff return that got things started for Columbus. He added two rushing TD’s and one passing TD in Columbus High’s dominant 38-7 win over Hardaway.

100yrd fumble return for a TD!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS!! Tristan Lyles caused a fumble at the four yard line as Auburn was about to score. Senior DB Tony Arnett recovered the fumble and returned it officially for 96 yards, but on film, you can clearly see his toe touch the end zone, making it a true 100-yard fumble return in my book. Central’s defense completely suffocated Auburn’s offense after a red zone turnover, coming up huge to help secure the shutout victory over Auburn High.

Freshman wide receiver Braylen Averett made the most of his opportunities against Auburn, hauling in three catches. Two of which went for touchdowns. One of those was this 65-yard catch and run, where 64 of those yards came after the catch. He turned a simple stop route into a highlight reel moment for the Red Devils. Finishing with 3-102 and 2 tuddies.
