A prostate screening may sound like something you’d rather avoid. But this one is just a blood draw, and for eligible Hopkins County men, it’s free.

The Hopkins County Health Care Foundation is offering **100 free PSA tests throughout September** for uninsured men who meet age requirements, along with eligible first responders serving Hopkins County.

Emily Nance joined us on **The Lede** to explain who qualifies, what the test involves and how to make an appointment.

When a man at the Wolfe City Rodeo tried to move his work-worn hand out of Shalimar Diaz De Leon’s shot, the Royse City photographer stopped him.

“No, it’s perfect. That’s exactly what I want.”

For Diaz De Leon, Western photography is about the grit, texture and real moments that can disappear when an image becomes too polished.

We talked with the photographer behind Shalimar Photography about finding those moments, developing her style and what she learned shooting her very first rodeo.

Can a Democrat make an explicitly Christian case for progressive politics in Texas?

NPR Religion and Belief Correspondent Jason DeRose joined KETR's The Lede after spending time on the campaign trail with Democratic U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico.

Their conversation goes beyond one candidate. DeRose talks about Talarico's use of scripture to argue for policies on health care and immigration, the very different reactions he heard from Texas voters, and a larger debate within Christianity over whether the obligation to "love your neighbor" extends to government and public policy.
