Legendary bodybuilder and four-time Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler has never shied away from sharing the extreme lengths he went to in order to sculpt one of the most iconic physiques in the sport. In a recent revelation, Cutler opened up about his astonishing daily egg white intake during his competitive years β a jaw-dropping 140 egg whites a day.
"I'm not going to lie. I ate 140 egg whites a day," Cutler admitted, highlighting the extreme dietary discipline required at the elite level of bodybuilding. "I was cracking eggs nonstop. I mean, I remember sitting and cracking eggs for an hour in the morning." His morning routine involved preparing vast quantities of egg whites, which he would portion out into Tupperware containers for convenience throughout the day. βI would put everything in Tupperware containers and just dump it out,β he explained.
Cutlerβs approach was methodical and consistent. He would consume 30 egg whites per meal β a strategy that aligned with his goal of reaching 500 grams of protein daily. "Because there are only about 3 grams of protein in an egg white, I was eating 500 grams of protein," he said. The sheer volume of protein he consumed was essential to support the muscle growth, recovery, and density required to remain at the top of the competitive bodybuilding world.
