I'm in zone 8a and getting those cool season crops started!

Cool season crops are plants that don't like the heat, think:

Broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, lettuce, kale, spinach, etc.

I'll be starting all of those in hopes to transplant those mid March and then grow to maturity outside before our heat wave hits!

I normally start these inside but this year we are going to put the greenhouse to the test and see how it goes!

I will still be starting my hot season plants inside, and direct sowing other cool season crops that prefer it, more on that to come!

Let's keep growing together!

Can you really have too many garden beds??

The answer is: NO!

Wasted space HATES to see me coming.

We are adding 6 new beds this year! So far..... 😬 Don't tell my husband that number may double by summer.

My vision is to have a lot of garden staples accessible right next to my house as well as the kitchen garden in the back.

Let's keep growing!

Stick around to see how you can fill beds in the most cost effective way!

Here's to hoping I can save money landscaping this year!

I am trying to start Yarrow for my back garden hedge this year. I need somewhere between 15 to 20 plants and buying that at a nursery can get pricey!

So let's see what this $3 pack of seeds can do for me!

Follow along as we continue on our garden journey, let's learn together ! ❤️

Native passionfruit is the coolest accident that could've happened in the food forest!

We have had some native passion fruit growing along our tree line.

Well this year the vines started popping up in my raised kitchen garden!!

I was happy to welcome them into one space but continuously had to pull the vines from other spaces.

This vine grows at an insane rate! It has prolific yields of passion fruit.

We are going to need an extra trellis to tame this vine next season.

Would you try one of these?

Seed saving tip!

Let your pole beans dry on the vine, when they are brown and the insides are hard, harvest those beans!

This is a great way to have seeds ready to go for next year and it will cost you nothing!

Saving money in the garden is so easy, and honestly it only takes a tiny amount of time to seed save!

There is an abundance of loofah at the house right now.

We are in the midst of processing it all, currently on #28 with tons left hanging.

I am going to try my best to leave them out there until the last frost.

I will cut them green as we get closer to frost time, and dry them out indoors.

Loofahs vary in color based on when they were harvested. Give them a good soapy soak and rinse them out.

You can bleach them if you'd like, but I bypass this step and use them in all shades!

Follow along to see how you can grow a food forest in your own backyard.

If youre local you can pickup your loofah sponges anytime! They come in:

4 for $3 or
8 for $6
