I just got confirmation from the Library of Congress. Here's why that made me cry. πŸ˜πŸ“š

Last week, I submitted our Library of Congress registration for Zemi Publishing. Today, I got the confirmation, and I sat there for a minute β€” because the Library of Congress holds the permanent cultural record of this country, and today, Caribbean stories, TaΓno stories, and African diaspora stories went into that record. Officially. Nobody can un-tell those stories now.

Zemi Publishing exists. And if you're a writer who has been told your story is too niche, too Caribbean, too Indigenous, too diaspora β€” or honestly, from any culture that mainstream publishing has overlooked β€” come find me. We have a home for you.

The whole story. Our way. Forever in the record. Follow for the publishing house journey. πŸ“šπŸŒΏ

Something I've been building quietly is finally ready to be seen. πŸ“šβœ¨

Zemi Publishing is here.

We are an independent publishing house rooted in Caribbean identity, ancestral storytelling, African diaspora literature, and TaΓno cultural memory. We exist to give a home to the stories that have always mattered β€” and to ensure that the voices who carry those stories have a platform worthy of their power.

Last week, I submitted our registration to the Library of Congress. Today, it was confirmed β€” a milestone that means every book we bring into the world will hold its own permanent record in the national library of this country.

"Leh we tell de whole story." That's the theme of this year's Tobago Heritage Festival, and honestly? It's the motto I'm putting on the door of Zemi Publishing.

The whole story. Every voice. Every root. Our way.

More to come very soon. Follow this page and stay close.
