Just 20min for Myrtle Beach, we sat down with Mrs. Jacobs to share her story.

She grew up on the farm and has been cooking since she was old enough to stand on a milk crate to reach the stove. She protested in the 60s for equal rights in the rural town of Loris, SC along with her co-workers at the sewing plant for equal pay.

She feared that she would lose her job but she believed that the collective cause was greater than her fears.

She is the proud Grandmother of the Higher Ground Documentary's Producer, Whitney Anderson and Researcher, Karen Anderson Crummy.
