I couldn't resist making this little video with the crew. One of the absolute best things about the Maine C**n breed is that despite their wild, majestic looks, they are completely gentle lap cats. They will happily let you scoop them up for a cuddle anytime, anywhere.

When I turned on the game this week, I fully expected this little one to be napping or chasing shadows. Instead, they were completely locked in on the screen, tracking every single pass and play like a true sports fan.
There is a massive misconception that felines are purely independent and aloof. Maine C**ns, however, are incredibly intelligent and highly observant. Because of their strong visual drive and natural curiosity, they rarely just sit in a room with you—they actively participate in your daily routines. Watching those big eyes track the soccer players back and forth perfectly highlights how engaged and dog-like their personality truly is.

Everyone sees the massive size of a European Maine C**n and immediately assumes they must be wild, aloof, or intimidating. But wait until you hear my husband's background commentary on this video... 🗣️
There is a huge misconception that these giant cats are fiercely independent. In reality, they are the ultimate "velcro" cats. As my husband perfectly describes it while I'm trying to film, Aslan is completely in his "love me, love me, don't leave me" era 24/7.
Despite looking like a fierce wild lion, Aslan just wants to bury his giant head into your arms and be held like a literal baby. From a temperament perspective, this is exactly what makes the European lines so special—a breathtaking, wild-looking size paired with an incredibly sweet, loyal, and heavily people-oriented disposition. They truly just want to be involved in whatever their family is doing.

There’s a common misconception that every kitten is born looking soft, sweet, and perfectly angelic. But if you’ve ever raised European Maine C**ns, you know some are just born with a permanent, majestic attitude.
I’ve been trying to capture a soft video of Danica all week, but she has her heavy-box RBF down to an absolute science. As a preservationist, seeing this fierce, intense scowl in a kitten this young is actually incredibly exciting.
That iconic "grumpy" look isn't an accident—it’s driven by the very specific structural genetics in high-end European lines. We look for prominent, square muzzles, strong chin expressions, and deep-set eyes that eventually give them that breathtaking, wild-lion presence when they fully mature.
Even though she looks like she’s actively judging my entire life, those bold facial features make her an absolute standout in this litter. There is truly nothing better than massive, majestic attitude packed into a tiny, gorgeous fluff ball.
