Who loves a visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom? We sure do! Today on Hammocks to Coasters on YouTube, we turn back time to highlight a visit from almost a year ago. In a little over a month we will be in Florida and enjoying touring around Walt Disney World again.

Have you ever left anything behind at a hotel or other lodging? Did you have success in retrieving the item?

I’d like to take a moment to share a story and give a HUGE shoutout to the Spark by Hilton Hershey near the Park. The staff, and the manager, have gone above and beyond for us twice! Within a month. Yes, a month!

A week ago we were traveling in Pennsylvania. We switched from the Spark to a nearby Thousand Trails location. As the evening was winding down, Teddy discovered that his beloved Easter Mickey plush was not with us. Panic ensued, a major meltdown. I called the hotel, but no notice of Mickey. The following morning, after a rough night, I called again. Truthfully I didn’t have hope. Oddly, we had been staying at this same hotel just a few weeks before on a different trip to the Hershey area. I had accidentally left behind my second cell phone, my business phone. Housekeeping discovered it, the hotel called me, and arrangements were made for it to be shipped to me in Maine. Based on this experience, I had hope that the staff was caring enough to not toss Mickey in the trash if he were found.

I called and a very kind staff member took my information. Within a few minutes, she called back. Mickey was found and patiently awaiting Teddy to retrieve him. We quickly got ready and drove back to Hershey before we moved forward with our plans for Dutch Wonderland on that day.

I’ve been a big fan of this hotel for a year now, but these experiences of outstanding customer care and service have definitely strengthened my loyalty.

If ever in the Hershey area, consider using this particular hotel location.

Time for a shift. I want to narrow my focus on the Hammocks to Coasters channel and other social media platforms towards travel related to theme parks, cruises, and other travel that may pair well with that focus. I will be shifting the nature, history, hiking, general sightseeing, and other random fun adventures to a new channel and soon to come, social media around that. That will be Tales of a Nomadic Phoenix. (Link to that YouTube channel in comments)

We absolutely loved exploring Legoland New York! Our first day had us running out early due to severe weather coming but we still fit in tons of fun before we made our exit. We got a chance to do the Pokemon Trainer event currently going on, we were super excited to experience the gondola ride, and check out a few other attractions. Highly recommend this location! Stay tuned for Day Two to come tomorrow, where the sun (and so much fun) returns!

Today’s episode on Hammocks to Coasters on YouTube is of our recent stay at Thousand Trails Circle M in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. (See link to video in the comments). We are Thousand Trails Cabin Pass members and snagged this stay last minute due to changing up our itinerary. Overall we enjoyed the stay, only big complaint is having to pay for WiFi. The location was clean, felt safe, pool was outstanding, and had an adorable mini golf course. Still trying to decide if the cabin pass is a fit for our family. I didn’t film quite as I had intended, as that first night we discovered that poor Mickey had been left behind accidentally at the previous lodging, therefore Teddy had a difficult night. We got on the road early the following morning to go rescue his beloved plushie. Overall I’d give this location my recommendation and would consider staying again.
