The ASD is hosting a FREE SUMMER MEALS program beginning Monday!
All children aged 18 and under and everyone aged 21 and under with a disability can receive a free breakfast & lunch daily Monday-Thursday in June by visiting the elementary cafeteria at Alcorn Central, Biggersville, or Kossuth!
Children do NOT have to be enrolled in the ASD to receive the free meals.
Please join us!

On Thursday, we gathered to celebrate two valued members of the ACTC family — Mr. Phil Smith and Mr. Daniel Derrick — as they begin new chapters in their careers.

We are deeply thankful for the time, commitment, and contributions both have made to ACTC and to our students.

Mr. Derrick is now serving as the State FFA Director, and Mr. Smith will continue supporting students and career and technical education at Biggersville High School.

We wish them both the very best in their new roles and are cheering them on every step of the way! 💙💛

🚗🏆 Congratulations to James Quinn, Alcorn Career & Technology Center's Student of the Year!

James is a standout senior at Alcorn Central High School and ACTC, where he has truly gone the extra mile. With a passion for automotive mechanics and a clear vision for his future, he’s earned multiple ASE certifications and dual-enrolled at Northeast Mississippi Community College to sharpen his skills early.

He’s actively involved in his school and community—serving in clubs like SkillsUSA, BETA, FCA, and the National Technical Honor Society, all while volunteering over 70 hours and working as a Mechanic Assistant.

After graduation, James will attend NEMCC to pursue a degree in Automotive Mechanics and Automotive Service Technology, continuing his journey toward owning his own successful auto business one day.

From academics to leadership to service, James is driving toward a bright future—and we are so proud to celebrate him! 💙💛

📚🖍 Our Ed Prep I students wrapped up the year with their Classroom Diorama Projects—and they did an amazing job!

From cozy reading corners to colorful bulletin boards, each diorama reflected thoughtful planning, creativity, and a growing passion for education. We’re so proud of their hard work and excited to see where their future in teaching takes them! 🍎✨

Thank you to the Alcorn County Fire Departments for all they do to keep our community safe! 🚒💧 Our ACTC students collected and donated cases of water as part of their NTHS Community Service Project, and we were proud to drop them off this week. Special thanks to firefighter Evan Gibbons for representing the department and receiving the donation!
