Today, our Health Sciences second-year students had the opportunity to learn from the caring professionals at Gentevia Hospice as part of their Human Growth and Development unit, which includes the topic of Death and Dying.
We were grateful to welcome Cindy Killingsworth, Volunteer Coordinator; Amanda Mauney, RN; and Caitlin Buchanan, LPN, who shared valuable insight into hospice care and the end-of-life process.
Students learned about:
🩺 The benefits and requirements of hospice care
❤️ End-of-life care and patient advocacy
🌎 Caring for a diverse patient population
🤝 Volunteer opportunities for students ages 18 and older
Thank you to Gentevia Hospice for taking the time to educate our students and provide a meaningful, real-world learning experience! We appreciate the important work you do in our community. 💙
