Today, our Health Sciences second-year students had the opportunity to learn from the caring professionals at Gentevia Hospice as part of their Human Growth and Development unit, which includes the topic of Death and Dying.

We were grateful to welcome Cindy Killingsworth, Volunteer Coordinator; Amanda Mauney, RN; and Caitlin Buchanan, LPN, who shared valuable insight into hospice care and the end-of-life process.

Students learned about:
🩺 The benefits and requirements of hospice care
❤️ End-of-life care and patient advocacy
🌎 Caring for a diverse patient population
🤝 Volunteer opportunities for students ages 18 and older

Yesterday, our engineering students designed and built their egg-drop contraptions. Today, it was time to put those designs to the test!

The Egg Drop Challenge gave students a hands-on opportunity to experience the Engineering Design Process—imagine, design, build, test, evaluate, and learn from what happens when things don’t go exactly as planned.

Some survived. Some didn’t. But every drop was a chance to learn!
