Summertime starts, ends, and has right in the middle a Red, White and Blue holiday. So I don’t know about you, but summertime is to me, Red, white and blues!

So I started first of course making my sunflower style bag out of those colors, then I made a floppy hat! Who knew that I would end up sewing and doing a little quilting and making another shoulder bag! So now I have so many options! You can take your pick!

Add to your summer outfits and outings!

Well between everything I’ve been doing over the last month or so this is my current work in progress. Since the last couple of days I did throw back Tuesday and flash back Wednesday , I thought it only appropriate to do work in progress Thursday since we are all messed up over here with all this tech stuff!

No matter what I always have a hook, yarn and something piled up on the table in the front room next to the couch. This has been my current project. Everyone loves the sunflowers and the teal, so I am combining the two into a throw.

Maybe I’ll be done by the time it gets cold. I have a few things on the sewing machine too!!

Yarn: (of course!!)
Caron One Pound
Sunflower/Espresso/Faded Brick/Aqua/Robins Egg

Is there a throw back Tuesday? Or how about a flash back Wednesday? Well there should be! (Oh there’s my Taylor reference coming through lol) . I have always loved bags, purses, items with handles. So when I started making my own, it has become so incredibly hard not to go pick one off the shelves and rack I have. This is one of those I have a hard time keeping my hands off of! It’s a larger bottom bag, made in more classic retro 60’s colors. I made this last year, inspired while watching the “Daisy Jones & the 6” miniseries on Amazon Prime. I just love music so I loved it!! Thought the color combo turned out cute too, with the matching delicate floral interior.

Maybe I should make another one of these?

So I said a couple of weeks ago that changes were coming to Cozy Crochet Hook. First, most know I have jumped head first into the sewing world, starting with quilted bags of different shapes and sizes. Just like my crochet bags, I have shoulder bags, smaller bags, crossbody bags and more to be explored! I have a room with racks and shelves full of all the things I have made. I have a website cozycrochethook.com that all of these items are available for sale on. I have been asked on several occasions if they could be purchased on Facebook or instagram. Well now they can!

Cozy Crochet Hook now has an online store right here on Facebook and Instagram! That’s what I have been doing stepping away from here recently. (That and another website and techy stuff I do too!) This tech world is its own! So with that being said, as I post items that are for sale they will now have a link directly to purchase if you are interested!

Otherwise please continue to enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating it! Please note I only sell finished products, not patterns (yet! Maybe someday!)

Happy Fourth of July 🇺🇸 from Cozy Crochet Hook! With the Fourth of July around the corner back on Father’s Day, I made two of these flags. Initially the top one for my dad. Just learning to cut, piece and quilt I found this video pattern from . After making that one I found this amazing fabric with guitars on it and had to make one for my husband, but not wanting to cut up the pieces so small as to loose the guitars, I left it in stripes. I love them both!

With that being said, some new changes coming to Cozy Crochet this week! Considering it’s already Thursday, it’s just around the corner! 🫣 So stay tuned!!
Happy Fourth! Stay safe!

With tomorrow starting the first full week of summer, I thought I would share one of my new quilted patchwork bags with this cute retro beachy fabric! It’s a great open bag, with both inside zipper and slip pockets, and longer straps which makes it all the more easy to put all the stuff you need in for that outdoor trip!

You can find this as well as many others on my website www.cozycrochethook.com

Enjoy these summertime finds now! Before you know it, it will be pumpkin season! 😭

My last post was a finished WIP, so since it is almost WIP Wednesday i thought I’d post another finished one! Switching gears and going back to the sunflower patchwork quilted piece I had posted a few weeks ago, I made this cute bag! For so many years I carried a LV Neverfull and the one thing my daughter and I always said was that we wished the straps were longer! So that’s my thing with the bags I make, they either have adjustable straps, or they are all on the longer side. This one has a zipper closure and zipper and slip pockets inside.

You can shop this as well as many other new and exciting things on my website at www.cozycrochethook.com

I thought I would start off this week first by just being thankful. When a curve ball comes out of left field, and God says nope not today, it is a reminder to be thankful for every day 💛☀️
Second, I would post a finished project that I started several months and had posted as a WIP. I usually don’t like to take so long to finish something, because it leads me to not finishing it, since I did so many other things in the meantime. However I really wanted to complete this simple “Circle in a Square “ granny square pattern with the Caron Jumbo Twirl yarn. I also don’t usually do simple block colors but I just wanted to use the yarn as it is. I love the multi colored, makes it versatile and can go with many things!

Pattern: Circle in a Square Granny Square

Yarn:
Caron One Pound/ Off White
Caron Jumbo Twirl/ mustard/peony/violet/terra cotta/canal/iris/truffle

You can find this afghan and many other new items available on my website!

I don’t like to post personal stuff on this account, I have another one for those things. But considering it’s WIP Wednesday I thought it appropriate to share my personal WIP. You see for those that don’t know me personally, I celebrate a second “sweet 16” today. A “sweet sober 16”, and every single day of these past 5,844 days has been a WIP! Sometimes it has felt like a WIP Wednesday on repeat, a sort of groundhog’s day Ferris wheel you want to get off of.

The reason I am bringing this up here is because learning to crochet 3 1/2 years ago was a lifesaver. It’s given me something to hold onto when those demons try come back, and more recently the addition of the newest addiction, my monster sewing machine. Yarn and fabric, these are two addictions I can live with.

Thank you to all the people who have been supporting me and my crochet endeavors, you have had no idea how much help you have really been giving! All it takes sometimes is a like, a comment, a kind word, can go along way in someone’s day ☀️🌻

Over the last month or so, I’ve been working on several things for a baby shower for our niece. Her and her husband are expecting their first, a little girl 💖 So of course you know what that means to us crochet artists!!! Well when I asked what her colors were, I got back more of an “era” (and yes she too is a Taylor Swift fan go figure!) The Regency Era to be exact. So with that I had some fun looking for a little more lacy , regal pattern. I found this Victorian Lattice Block and just tried to fill it with colors from that time. I thought it turned out pretty.

But also with my new addition of sewing I made a bag, and a changing pad, as well as what was supposed to be a receiving blanket but came out more of a small little flannel quilt! All of which I will post separately. But having so much fun with all of this new stuff!

Victorian Lattice Square: Pattern found on YouTube

Yarn: Caron Simply Soft
White/Bone/Plum Wine/Soft Pink/Dark Sage/Woodland Heather/Autumn Maize/Soft Green
