Arizona To Have Double Storm System Hits Wednesday into Thursday, Final Forecast, Rain and Snow Maps Included

Arizona Weather Force has issued the final forecast for Wednesday and Thursday double hit system.

Rain and snow zoom in maps are available … get them here - https://arizonaweatherforce.com/2026/01/06/arizona-to-have-double-storm-system-hits-wednesday-into-thursday-final-forecast-rain-and-snow-maps-included/

Discussion: A cutoff low out of Baja will bring upper level dynamics into the region on Wednesday and following that will be a colder system out of the northwest. Prescott could see a dusting, Flagstaff a few inches by the time this is over, which is the AZWF Winter Weather Advisory on the Rim …

If thunderstorms are in the cards, additional updates will be made, but for now use the rain and snow models for this event.

Weekend weather forecast poem as NWS hasn't issued the flood watch I did, by Raiden Storm, radar by ZoneWatch

A weekend storm in Southern California brews,
Ignored by the official weather news.

The sky is grey, a blanket dark and wide,
Where heavy, coming waters hide.

The Southern California Weather Force predicts the rain,
A flash flood watch bringing a moment's pain.
We warn the foothills, canyons steep and dry,
Of sudden flows beneath the weeping sky.

The Santa Ana winds begin their sighing fall,
As nature answers to a different call.
The National Weather Service is silent, calm and not so bright,
Oblivious to the coming weekend's plight.

So heed the word of the local, watching eye,
For sometimes storms slip under the radar's sky.

Storm System to hit Southern California on the weekend of January 3rd and 4th; SCWF Flood Watch Issued

Southern California Weather Force has issued a Flood Watch effective January 3rd through the 4th for the following zones;

Zones Affected: San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange County, and the Northern Inland Empire from the Rancho, Cajon Pass, Fontana, and Yucaipa areas …

Use the SCWF Rainfall Maps below. You can zoom in on devices with your keyboard, or if on a phone then you use two thumbs as the resolution on the is high - https://www.southerncaliforniaweatherforce.com/2026/01/02/storm-system-to-hit-southern-california-on-the-weekend-of-january-3rd-and-4th-scwf-flood-watch-issued/

Discussion: Another storm system within the Raiden Storm Pattern will impact the region starting later today, but increase as Saturday moves on. Expecting two impulses to move through, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. These systems are traditional to what Southern California usually get, so expecting the worst to hit the southern end of the mountains due to southerly flow in the mid-levels, so areas like San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Los Angeles County, as per the SCWF rainfall models issued here.

Inland Empire zones will have a small rain-shadow effect from the Santa Ana Mountains, meaning less rain and no flood concerns, as will San Diego. Rainfall will washout as it moves eastward, leaving most, if not all of the low desert dry with this one.

A 120 mph upper level jet within the lifting zone can produce a chance of thunderstorms with this event.

This system will have higher snow-levels, so travel in the passes and Big Bear will be met with just rainfall. Lower snow-levels are expected around January 6th give or take a day on each side as colder systems target the region.

Happy New Year everyone, love you all im on nurse duty today from my wife's surgery.. im taking care of her like I took care of you 😆

The storm sighs low, a tired guest,
Now packing up its wet behest.
It turns a gaze toward the east,
From mountain range to sandy beach.

"My apologies for meager show,"
It whispers to the LA glow.
"A single flash, a lonely dart,
I know I barely played my part.

The Rose Parade's now dry and done,
Beneath a pale and watery sun."

"My strength was weak, my focus lost,
I simply couldn't meet the cost.
A heavy heart did weigh on me,
A loss of kin, a broken tree.
But I will rise, I will be well,
And future forecasts I will tell."

"For signs of change begin to loom,
Dispelling all this present gloom.
Look to the sky, a chill is near,
By January sixth, you'll hear
A colder wind, a different song,
Where stronger storms will soon belong.

I'll do much better on my return,
A powerful lesson I have learned.
Thank you for staying by my side,
In the coming weather, we'll confide."

New New Years Weather Force Poem written by Raiden Storm, Happy New Year everyone.

As 2025 fades and the new year draws near,
Arizona awaits with a toast and a cheer.
Raise up your glasses, let the good times flow,
For 2026 brings a hopeful, bright glow.

From Bisbee's charm to the Grand Canyon's might,
May your days be full of laughter and light.

But hold to your hats, for the forecast is vast,
A shift in the weather will come in due haste.
After the Sixth Day of January's start,
A storm pattern enters, taking the wild heart
Of the weather's calm rest, and begins its cold dance,
Putting the warm desert into a chill trance.

The systems will follow, each colder than the last,
Into mid-month the pattern will hold steadfast.

Lower elevations, prepare for the white sight,
As the snow level drops with each wintery night.

Even Prescott will see the soft, silent flakes fall,
Answering the high country's beautiful call.

So welcome the New Year with joy in the sun,
Then ready your shovels when the storm has begun.
