Rise and shine, beautiful souls. ☀️🙏

There is something so sacred about the first few quiet moments of the morning, before the noise of the day sets in, when it's just you, your coffee, and His Word. Every single morning is a fresh start, a clean page, a new mercy waiting for you the moment your eyes open.

No matter what yesterday looked like, no matter what mistakes were made or burdens were carried, God's compassion for you does not run out. It is renewed with the sunrise, faithfully, every single time. That truth alone is worth pausing for.

So today, before the to-do list takes over, take one slow breath and let that promise settle in your heart. What does your morning quiet time with God usually look like?

A traveling doctor treated her infant eyes with the wrong remedy, and F***y Crosby never saw anything again. 👁️ She was six weeks old. She lived to be ninety-four.

She wrote "Blessed Assurance." She wrote "To God Be the Glory." She wrote thousands more, dictating verses from memory, working in the dark of a small New York apartment for most of her adult life. When a well-meaning preacher told her it was a pity God had not given her sight, she told him she was glad for it — because when she reached heaven, the very first face she would ever look upon would be the face of Christ. 🎵

That is not denial. That is a woman who decided what her loss would mean before bitterness could decide it for her. She turned the thing that took the most from her into eight thousand songs the church is still singing more than a century later. ✝️ Somewhere in your memory there is a hymn you learned before you were old enough to understand it.

She had just told a room full of strangers that God forgives. Then the man who guarded the barracks where her sister died walked straight up to her with his hand out. 🕊️

Corrie ten Boom survived Ravensbrück. Her sister Betsie did not. Two years later, in a church basement in Munich, one of the guards from that camp came forward to thank her for her message and to ask if she could forgive him. She later wrote that she stood there with her arm frozen at her side, praying for the ability to do the thing she had just preached. When she finally lifted her hand, she said something moved through her that she knew did not come from her own heart. ✝️

Forgiveness is easy to admire from a distance and almost impossible up close. It is one thing to believe in grace, and another thing entirely to hand it to the person who took something from you. 🙏 Most of us are carrying one name we have never fully let go of.
