The problem is women keep believing he will change he won't. And men keep believing she will never leave but she will.

And both of those miscalculations cost people years. Sometimes decades.

She stays longer than she should because love and hope are a dangerous combination when they're pointed at someone's potential instead of their pattern. She's not naive - she's loyal to a version of him she genuinely saw glimpses of. The problem is glimpses aren't consistency. And potential that never arrives is just disappointment with a longer timeline.

not He gets comfortable because her love has always felt unconditional. Every threat to leave got walked back. Every boundary got softened. So he stops trying out of malice, but out of certainty. He genuinely believes she's not going anywhere. He has years of evidence to back that up.

Until one day she's not angry anymore. She's not crying anymore. She's not bringing it up anymore. And he mistakes that quiet for peace when really it's a woman who has finally finished grieving the relationship while still standing in it.

By the time he realizes she meant it, she's already gone somewhere he can't reach. Not physically. Emotionally. And that distance is the one you can't GPS your way back from.

Some people don’t want to lose you—they just don’t want to truly choose you.

They keep you close enough to enjoy your love, your loyalty, and your time, but never close enough to give you honesty, commitment, or peace of mind.

May you never again give your heart to someone who loves having access to you but refuses to appreciate your worth.

Real love doesn’t leave you questioning where you stand. It’s intentional, reassuring, and consistent.

May you find the courage to walk away from anyone who treats you like a backup plan when you deserve to be their first choice.

And may the next person who comes into your life never make you wonder if you’re enough—because they’ll choose you openly, confidently, and wholeheartedly, every single day.
